CLIENT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

At ClearStream Psychology, we believe you have the right to:

  • Be yourself.

  • Not always be okay or your best self.

  • Be treated with dignity, compassion, caring, and professionalism.

  • Work with a psychologist who does their ethical duty in using professional knowledge, judgement, and skills to promote and protect your well-being to the best of their ability.

  • Provide direction and feedback about your needs, goals, experiences, and progress in assessment and treatment.

  • Understand your assessment and/or treatment plan.

  • Have appropriate privacy, confidentiality, and safety for your personal psychological health information.

  • Refuse or withdraw consent for some or all psychological services at any time.

And we believe you have the responsibility to:

  • Be yourself.

  • Actively participate during sessions.

  • Actively practice between sessions.

  • Be willing to experience and experiment with new ways of thinking, behaving, and feeling.

  • Be as curious, honest, brave, and persistent as you are able.

  • Recognize that you may find some parts of your assessment or treatment to be challenging at times.

  • Provide direction and feedback about your needs, goals, experiences, and progress in assessment and treatment, so that your psychologist can understand how to best provide services.

  • Prepare for effective sessions: consider your treatment goals, arrive on time, reduce distractions, and bring your notepad/ beverage/ sweater/ etc.
